The manaia, usually show as a bird form, is regarded as a spiritual guardian. The design reflects the flight of the soul through life and beyond. It is often incorporated into other forms to add an the element of spiritual protection. This carving adds a Koru element to reflect spiritual growth and the search for knowledge.

    This piece is carved from a piece of Walrus Jaw bone that was very porous. I filled the voids wth pink and purple resin to give a competely unique look. The design is truly one of a kind and a very very striking. 

    All the designs include an adjustable waxed polyester cord along with cards that explain the meaning of the design and the background of the material. She measures 48mm by 45mm.
