The fish hook is one of the most commonly used symbols in Maori Carving. It is a talisman for prosperity and strength. It also reflects connection to water and it is often given when someone is travelling or journeying and as a mark of friendship and respect.
This contemorary design is carved from aged beef bone and has some cool colour and texture. All the designs included an adjustable waxed polyester cord along with cards that explain the meaning of the design and the background of the material. She measures 70mm by 30mm.
