The fish hook is one of the most commonly used symbols in Maori Carving. It is a talisman for prosperity and strength. It also reflects connection to water and it is often given when someone is travelling or journeying and is often given as a mark of friendship and respect
This contemporary design is carved from red deer coronet and has some very cool colouring and speckles. The design also has a nice thickness to it! All the designs included an adjustable waxed polyester cord along with cards that explain the meaning of the design and the background of the material. She measures 39mm by 55mm.
