Manaia and Koru

This design combines two traditional elements. The manaia, or bird form is generally regarded as a spiritual guardian. The carving represents the flight of the soul through life. The koru (fern) form adds the element of spiritual growth and peace. She measures 5.5cm x 3.9cm.
